Critical Thinking & Decision Making.
Critical Thinking & Decision Making. In the simplest of words, critical thinking is deliberately analyzing information, so it results in better judgments and decisions. This usually involves reasoning, creativity and logic to draw conclusions. If that sounds like a broad definition, that’s because critical thinking is a broad skill that fits many different situations. From managing your time better, making informed decisions about purchasing stuff, or preparing for an interview, critical thinking comes in handy during these times. Process of Critical Thinking. Human beings are constantly thinking, and that’s something we cannot turn off. But not every single minute comprises of critical thinking because that would be insane and very exhausting. Rather, it is an intentional process or something that we automatically fall back on when we are faced with a difficult problem or when an important decision needs to be made. Improving your Critical Thinking. For us to become better critical thinkers, whenever we are presented with a problem, it’s imperative that we ask questions before jumping to conclusions. Which is the natural reaction of humans in most, if not all cases. A critical thinker will use simple questions like “What do I know?” or “How do I know this?” in order to gain a better idea of what he / she is working with. Using such questions also helps in simplifying complex issues, in a minimal time frame.
